Variations
While scrolling through the playlist with various songs, one that stood out to me was Crazy By Ryan Cali. Reading about his life story and how he is musically inspired, I realized why the song has a certain Westcoast hip-hop sound to with the funky bass line and aggressive vocal tone. This song can have multiple variations to it as the flow of the lyrics being used can match different tempos and grooves.

gROOVE cHANGE
Using a half-time groove change, it gave the overall sound a better funk vibe to it. With the vocals coming at a similar pace, it allowed room for a change into the rhythm to be implemented.

lIVE SOUND
While designing a sound for the track, I wanted to replace one of the samples that I would personally change. Therefore, I took one sample out and created my own using Alchemy on Logic Pro X. I transferred a ride from EXS24 sampler to Alchemy and tuned the pitch, gave a higher cutoff time, added resonance, and more reverb to be pushed back in the mix on purpose.
When it comes to live sound, there are many options to create a unique sound with. I went with taking out 3 samples and adding a more atmospheric sound to the background of the song. I used a jar of pecans to create a falling sound by shaking the jar and adding a delay and big-room reverb. Also, I used a hairbrush and scratched an object to make a echoing rising sound. The effects I added were similar to the pecan one but I added a pitch-effect and had to use a different mic position to pick up the sound properly.
