This is my Project and Portfolio II for Full Sail University. In the video, you a get a walkthrough of the game, Graveyard. As you stroll around the map, you get to hear different ambient environments, energy orbs, thunder, and much more.

In the video below, you get a highlight reel of my work.

When it comes down to sound design, you have an abundance of different sounds you can go with whether it comes from a sound library on the internet or designing one with plug-ins through your DAW. One has the ability to make unique sounds and make a movie or game stand out from it. While playing Graveyard without any sounds, I can already hear what should be heard; from there, the rest was history. Using ProTools to create and edit sounds, it opened a world of different opportunities that I can use within upcoming projects. Working on Graveyard, it seemed complex but once the sounds were done and mixed, implementing the right way was key to perfecting my vision.

Scrolling down, you have the opportunity to check out the sounds that were used in Graveyard.

Ambience was key while working on graveyard and that meant I have to set the stage for the player to feel like he/she is there. Adding whispers gives the feeling of a scary scene or moment and it was perfect to add them around the tombstones. Working on the whispers, slowing down the voices I grabbed from a sound library was important as it helps the rumble in the background and you can't figure out what they're saying. Also, adding reverb helps with positioning the sound around the map.

One of my favorite sounds I worked with was the pick-up activate and de-activate sounds. Achieving the sound of grabbing something and letting go in a mystical way was goal and it was accomplished in my opinion. Both sounds contain reverb and the de-activate sounds was reversed to make sure they both sounded the same as the player travels through the game. Along with those two, working on the energy loop sound was helpful with making the object stand out as I made to sure make it an important sound while working on the mix.
